Get Fly, Get Paid, Live Your Best Life: How Ducee’ DropTop Merges Style and Sound

Written by Alexandria Anglade

Ducee’ DropTop’s latest release sprang from a sampling of Kodak Black’s “Gave It All I Got,” courtesy of producer Rarewtf. He and 10cellphones seized the energy behind the sample, relistening to the original track for guidance on how to shape their own version. It’s a process he’s repeated countless times: connect with a beat’s vibe, reexamine the source material for direction, then let creativity run its course.

Staying true to himself while catering to fans has become second nature. His passions for music, fashion, and creativity guide every move he makes, fusing these three worlds together in a way that not only feels authentic, but also builds a cohesive image. Ultimately, Ducee’ DropTop wants his pastimes to merge into a single career—one that feeds from and into each creative avenue he explores.

When it comes to making a track, he likes to lock in on the beats ahead of time. Searching for the right instrumental mid-session can kill his momentum, so having them lined up is key. Driving serves as his pre-studio brainstorming session, where he jots down memorable lines that might be used (or discarded) once he’s actually recording. In the studio, he typically punches in freestyle vocals or draws from his car-written scribbles for a starting point. The result is an organic blend of planned details and in-the-moment creativity.

Over the years, his sound and style have smoothed into a lane that feels unmistakably his, shaped by constant practice and a willingness to look back on older work and cringe. It’s that reflection—recognizing small missteps or growth areas—that has sharpened his craft. Collaboration, whether in the studio or beyond, plays a vital role in that evolution. By working alongside different creative minds, he stretches into new sonic spaces, sometimes unlocking an entirely unexpected style or approach he wouldn’t have tried on his own.

While music fuels him, the industry can still be a grind. Between social media content, networking, fashioning a distinct brand, and producing engaging material, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. For Ducee’ DropTop, staying disciplined and focusing on what keeps his passion alive is the key to keeping at it, even when the whirlwind of modern music promotion looms large.

Throughout it all, his primary message remains consistent: “Get fly, get paid, live your best life.” Whether that means adopting the hustle mindset, investing in self-expression, or simply finding the joy in daily life, he hopes his music motivates listeners to do the same. Ducee’ DropTop isn’t trying to tell grand fictional narratives—he prefers to rap about his own life. But if those bars make you want to upgrade your style and chase your dreams, then he’s done his job. As far as he’s concerned, there’s no higher compliment than inspiring someone else to get up, get going, and step toward a life that feels authentically theirs.
